The children's department of the municipal enterprise "Slobozhanskа Central Hospital" of Slobozhanske Village Council resumed its functioning after major repairs
The solemn opening of the children's department of Slobozhanska Central Hospital of the Slobozhanske Village Council (Dnipropetrovsk region), modernized with the use of grant funds provided by the German Government was held on December 16, 2025. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Natalia KOZLOVSKA, Village Mayor Ivan KAMINSKIY, USIF Deputy Executive Director Andriy LAKTIONOV, Director of the First Regional Office Serhiy KARATANOV, consultants of the First USIF Regional Office, representatives of contracting and designing project organizations, the Executive Committee of the Slobozhanske Village Council, the hospital staff, and interested local residents.
The children's department has undergone a major renovation of the interior of the 1st floor of the hospital with a total area of 416 m2 as well as thermal modernization of the building. As a part of the project, the exterior walls were insulated and decorated, the exterior door blocks, windows and stained glass windows were replaced with modern metal-plastic ones, a lightning protection system was installed and a blind area was arranged. The renovation of the interior envisaged redevelopment, installation of aluminum and metal doors, high-quality interior decoration, and a complete modernization of engineering networks - water supply (cold and hot with the installation of water heaters), sewage, heating, electricity supply, low-current networks and lighting. In addition, a supply-exhaust and exhaust ventilation system was installed, which ensures a proper microclimate in all rooms.
There are 5 wards on the first floor of the hospital in total, which can accommodate up to 9 patients: children, as well as children with parents. Each ward has a universal sanitary and hygienic room. Each ward has an exit to the street.
The department has become accessible to people with disabilities and other low-mobility groups based on the principle of universal design. Information signs, tactile and visual accessibility elements for people with visual impairments are placed now on the patients routes. The necessary visual information for patients is placed on the information stands. Toilets are repaired and staff call buttons are installed there.
The total cost of construction work is almost 35.5 million UAH.
The community funds were used to repair the premises of the 2nd floor and the premises of the consultative and diagnostic polyclinic: replacement of internal door blocks, interior decoration of the premises, replacement of internal engineering networks (water supply and sewage, heating, electricity supply, low-current networks and lighting), installation of a supply and exhaust ventilation system, installation of an air conditioning system, fire safety and alarm system, input-distribution device, execution of landscaping works, reconstruction of the basement for the arrangement of a dual-purpose structure with radiation shelter properties, arrangement of an individual heat point, purchase of furniture, medical equipment, office and computer equipment for a total amount of about UAH 50,000 million.
The renovated children's department with a consultative and diagnostic polyclinic employs 9 doctors and 17 medical staff, who will now receive patients in spacious offices with modern equipment. The children's department serves to 13,000 young patients from Slobozhanska and other communities of Dnipro district.
The modernization of the children's department has been carried out within the framework of the "Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development - USIF VIII" Project, which is financed by the Government of Germany through the German Development Bank (KfW) and is being implemented by the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund.
